No harm in living

If in the morning
my shivering body takes harm,
warm me up with some music
from those soft nylon strings
sing to me about those dewy green fields
happy children, wild animals
sing to me about the humanity
that I was made to forget
inside these concrete  stables.
Fed from a manger of stones and plastic
like a sickly child revolting
in her mother’s lap
I ask for the rushing freedom
of the gushing streams
because civilisation failed me
and this planet.
Sing to me sorrowful man
of all your troubles and miseries
for I learnt from the infinite winds
to quietly listen and embrace
to not be afraid of troughs
to not wither in the crests
and remember to remain
fluid.

If in the morning
my shivering body takes some harm
remind it that pain is a sign of
living.
