There in my moment of surrender
I asked
“can we begin?”
I felt the air get thick
the clouds of uncertainty circling
There in the sounds of doom
came a whistling man
a passerby
I felt it so completely
the sudden shift in the room
I sensed there had to be more
of the music
and less of the misery
So I travelled on
I learnt to look forward
Left behind the ruins
of untold stories
I have since never been solitary
For I am the fallen soldier
and the music man too
